What are you doing about sustainable fishing?

We are concerned about the environment and the fish that provide our livelihood. That’s why we work carefully with our suppliers to make sure that our fish is sustainably produced and caught. We are accredited by the Marine Stewardship Council to supply MSC accredited sea fish like linecaught mackerel and we use only top quality farmed Salmon that feed naturally, in well-oxygenated water and low density pens. We use farmed salmon because we are concerned about wild stocks being depleted not just in the UK, but in the North as well.

Are there any additives or other preservatives in your fish?

No. We cure our fish in sea salt (dry or brine) instead of vacuum dried salt, we don’t add sugar, and we never add anything other chemicals or preservatives to our fish. In the smoking process, we use locally sourced (where possible) green hardwoods like oak and beech to provide a natural preservation of the texture and taste of the fish.

Can I send your products overseas as a gift?

Unfortunately, due to the fragile nature of our smoked fish and smoked foods, we are unable to send orders overseas.

Do the photos on your website show what is in the Smokehouse Selection?

Generally, the photos do accurately depict what a product looks like and what is in the Smokehouse Selection. However, we recommend that you read the written details for a full list of what is included.

I didn’t finished all the fish, how do I store the rest?

Refrigerate the remaining portion and eat it up within 3 days of opening.

Can I freeze my order?

Yes, you can safely freeze our products when you receive your delivery for up to 3 months. Defrost for 24 hours in the refrigerator and use within 3 days of opening.

I have a special occasion coming up, can I order now and have it delivered in a week or two?

Definitely. We can handle specific date deliveries (Monday to Friday) for special occasions.
